i got my september layout and card class samples delivered to scrap it! this afternoon.

both paperdillies mini-albums have been posted.  i got those last two august kits done and ready to deliver.  and i've updated my blog 3 times!

still a lot to do though.  have 3 dt assignments to do for scrap it!  looking forward to starting those tomorrow.  and once they're finished, maybe i can get to that clown lo i've been meaning to do for so long. 

oh.  and my sister and neice from texas and my sister, neice and mom from florida are coming to visit next weekend.  have some SERIOUS housework to do between now and then.

about done for tonight though.  gonna clean up today's messes.  put g's pjs on him.  and call it a night. 

here's to another productive day tomorrow!  :D

...  to share 5 personality quirks.  so, here ya go...

1) whenever i glance at a digital clock . . . i'm compelled to make a balanced mathematical equation out of the digits.

2) the clothes in my closet are arranged by sleeveless knit, sleeveless buttonups, t-shirts, short-sleeved buttonups, long sleeved knit, long sleeved buttonups, long sleeved pullovers, button up sweaters . . . you get the picture.

3) i have the keys out of the ignition, my seatbelt off, the car door open, and my left foot on the ground before my passengers even realize we've come to a complete stop.

4) i have all the handwritten correspondence that anyone has ever sent me.

5) i absolutely, positively cannot stand for shoes to be left with the right shoe to the left of the left shoe.  really freaks me out.

i've just been very very sleepy for a very very long time and now i'm very very behind.  whew!

today was g's day . . .

i had my lss class thursday night.  and it went from 13 students to 18 students (major woohoo!) in a matter of hours, so g went to the mall with his dad after school while i frantically got ready, taught the class (which ran over), then cleaned up my mess.  by the time i got home it was definitely bedtime.

then last night he stayed with his babysitter while i went to the crop.  5:30 to 11:30.  (another major woohoo!).   got lots done on my paperdillies mini-album and got in even more socializing.

so . . . i decided today needed to be g's day.  (but i didn't expect it to start quite so early; 5:30am . . . thanks son).  we laid on the couch and watched thomas the tank engine together.  then went outside to color with sidewalk chalk.  went to visit his friend blake's yard sale.  napped together from 10 to 12.  (really needed that).  lunch; hotdogs for g/pasta for me.  played with playdoh then the sesame street construction site.  swimming at the pool.  back to blake's house to play in his backyard and have a little pizza for dinner. 

now we're showered and he's sound asleep . . . i'm headed that way . . . whew!  what a great day!  :D

tuesday tips too . . .

let's see . . .

* "busy" pp requires strong photos.

* forcing yourself to use what you have can be a really good thing.  i wanted to run out and buy more white sans serif alpha stickers so the title would exactly match the pp, but i decided to use what was on hand and am totally pleased with the results.  i think it really fits the message of the lo better this way.

* embrace your scrapping "vices" and find your "style".  my vices/my style:  color (esp red) oversized titles (esp stamped), hand journaling (bc the computer seems like work), pp (love to mix companies, put my own stamp on it), ribbon (it's become my signature - refuse to create a lo without it).

the second is a spur of the moment lo for the effer dare #1 and the gg polka dot weekly challenge.

tuesday tips . . .

things i've learned or thought more about this week (sbr) . . .

* if you're working on visual triangles in a lo, be sure to check for strong colors in your photos.  they might throw off your triangle if you don't include them as one of the angles.

* trim the excess edges off foam stamps.  it helps avoid shadowing when used ink and can make a neat outline effect if you push down really hard.  (see shoes photo below).

* use a little unexpected, wouldn't normally think to throw that color in the mix on a lo.  go ahead!  it's fun!  and adds interest to the design.
