so . . . we're eating well . . . and sleeping well . . . walked the strip this afternoon and found g his requisite tourist t-shirt . . . and i finally got the camera out . . . :D

so . . . what's been going on in my world . . . let's see . . .

guess my most major news is that i finally got a haircut.  only took me a year and a half.  i'm lazy that way.  can you believe 11 inches of hair fits in a sandwich sized ziploc?  it's all ready to send to locks of love . . . YAY . . . hee . . . wonder if they'll pick out the greys first . . . i certainly never bother.  :D 

oh.  and be kind.  this is my first attempt at a self portrait.  felt like a major dork smiling for the camera.  now i have a little more understanding of g's aversion to the lens . . . don't think that'll make me any more sympathetic though . . . gotta have pictures to scrap . . . sorry buddy.  :D

speaking of photo ops.  we're in gatlinburg this weekend.  i have an esl conference to attend and g goes where i go . . . hoping to get some good pics on our breaks tomorrow . . . so gorgeous here . . . :D

got three layouts done last weekend . . . all with fun imagination project goodies that the gluestick sent.  hope i get home in time to scrap a little this weekend . . . especially since i actually cleaned my desk before i left!  :D

oh!  and i got 3 emails from st this week . . . fun!  :D

we just had the best picture day ever.  lots of fun scrapping ahead!  :D

and we had the best time relaxing at sherri's . . . mostly just hanging out in their fabulous back yard as you can see . . . big thanks for the invite!  :D

we've had a fun morning . . . hope you have too!  :D

billy and melissa came over.  9:00 on the dot.  would we expect anything less from them?  i was still frantically vacuuming and hadn't even made it to the rit stained kitchen yet.  would we expect anything less from me?  g was thrilled to  see billy.  he adores him you see.  i think it's because billy knows the fine art of rough housing . . . they talk "boy" and are completely on the same page.  g looked all cute in his jammies hunting eggs.  didn't last long though.  not sure he ever got around to hunting eggs really.  he tossed a few.  especially the "nasty" real ones that were slimey with refrigerator condensation and dripping dye. 

the real thrill of the morning was bug hunting.  g could sense right away that billy was much braver than mommy when it came to chasing insects.  he ran upstairs for his new bug hunting gear and got billy to work catching bees.   here he is with one of the fat ferocious buzzers.

melissa and i had to pick up the rest of the eggies.  and brought down g's easter "tub".  the biggest hit out of his easter loot was the chicken that laid hubba bubba eggs.   it got quite a laugh out of g.  he kept yelling, "chicken poot! chicken poot!" which got quite a laugh out of the rest of us.

gotta wrap this up since we're supposed to be at sherri's cookout in half an hour and, well, g stinks.  so . . . happy easter everyone . . . i'll leave you with a couple happy smiles . . . :D  :D

a self-portrait . . .

two posts in one day.  i can hardly believe it myself.  blame it on gluestick.  who sent my a link to karen burniston's hysterical blog.  i couldn't stop reading.  i couldn't stop laughing.  and i was just so inspired.  life IS funny.  so here you go.  my feeble attempt at humor.

evidence that we did indeed finish dying the eggs.  hope bleach gets the stains off.  this incredible hulk look will not be pretty with my new easter outfit which is a delightful shade of aqua.  can you imagine?  my luck i'll finally get the perfect pic of me and g and have these awful green fingers imortalized there as well.

g had fun.  he preferred the bombs away method of getting the eggs into their dye baths.  the counter will need to be bleached as well.  i was quite proud of his egg wand skills getting them out of their little cups.  amazing skills for a two and a half year old.  and his fingertips are clean.  ah well.  i was always the dirty little kid in the family . . . guess i still am.  :D

my mess is bigger than your mess . . .

not that it's anything to brag about, really, but the the gluestick and i were having a "my mess is bigger than your mess" conversation the other day.  i was quite certain that my mess was indeed worse, but she claimed to have the edge since her cat was perched right in the middle of hers.  i assured her that i was a scrapbooker and such things could be staged.  i thought for sure i could get one of my cats to cooperate, especially since one of them only has 3 legs.  sigh.  seems my cats are no more cooperative than my son when it comes to being photographed.  :P

i actually did get the mess cleaned up friday.  but you can't tell i did a thing today since i worked on another layout last night.  who woulda thought a quick and easy fun one could cause such disaster in the scrapping space.  :D

we're coloring eggs tonight.  and billy and melissa are coming over in the morning to help us hunt them.  g's basket is a 16.75 gallon galvanized washtub.  i'm not kidding.  and he's got a matching little bucket for the hunt.  we have coordinating gap outfits for church.  hoping to get a decent shot of the two of us.  hope hope hope.  then off to sherri and michelle's cookout for lunch.  fun times!  :D

i was reading a post in the the pub the other day about looking for patterns in your gallery.  i'm an analyzer so i went analyzing.  course by the time i got done with my personal analysis it was time to get back to work and i didn't get around to posting my findings so i thought i'd post them here.  so what am i seeing in my gallery these days . . .

i stitch therefore i am.  i am experimenting with background color but still appreciate my old friends the neutrals.  orange is my go to girl for accents.  and the visual triangle is not completely necessary to my scrapping existence.  did i miss anything?  how about you?  noticed any new trends in your scrapping lately?  :D

our photoshoot went well yesterday.  lots to learn but overall we're pleased.  got another one today.  i'd better get busy and find a sitter for g.  and guess i should plan on making a pit stop at the grocery store on the way home so i'll have something to cook for dinner.  sigh.  and housework tomorrow.  getting a bit behind . . . :P

did manage to get two layouts done this weekend though.  :D

so carrie and i are starting a little photography business.  we have an easter photoshoot planned with some church friends this weekend.  so of course we've been practicing.  got some great shots of carrie's kid and renee's kid.  very pleased . . . :D
