is almost over.  whew.  :D

i haven't been such a good blogger in january.  mainly bc there hasn't been much to say and nothing to share really.  how about a little recap:

work audit.  over.
potty training.  g is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead on that one.
snow.  none.
snow days.  none.
house.  a pit.
haircut.  not yet.
new year's resolutions.  same old same old.
following through on new year's resolutions.  not so much.
toots.  two (st june and bhg july woohoo!).
hof.  still on #8 (due 2/10).
scrappy class.  definitely having one in february.
yoga pants.  they are the new overalls.

so there you have it . . . the good, the bad, and the ugly . . . :D

did get my poppy ink done this weekend.  can't post those yet.  they'll be up on the site thursday.  here are my january ones though in case you haven't seen them yet . . .

taking our show on the road . . .

so.  yesterday after school he peed on himself at target . . . then we managed an invite to cool renee's last night for some faaaaabulous chicken pot pie . . . good stuff!  the gman rewarded her w a little pee NOT in the potty action . . . and later a little something more serious for which he got in more serious trouble . . .

today we scored some awesome ribs at sherri's . . . finger licking good yes they were . . . sherri only got two pee episodes . . . maybe he likes her better?  or her ribs?  (totally trying to start something here . . . humor's good for those of us locked in the bathroom w toddlers w mammoth sized bladders) . . .

good news though!  he has produced TWO totally unsolicited tinkles since we've been home tonight!  woohoo!  maybe we are turning the corner here finally . . . i hope i hope . . .

ummmmmmmmm . . . and we're totally available this weekend . . . anybody else out there want to invite me and my dangerously undiapered son to dinner???  hmmmmm???  :D

potty wars . . .

so.  if you read the previous post you know the score was gabriel one, adults zero.  well, really the adults had a half point since he did do number two in the potty after peeing in the superheros, but anyway . . . i really had no intention of going there again so soon . . . but i got to school this afternoon to pick the little guy up and he was holed up in the bathroom with mrs. vicki, the daycare director . . . seems they'd been in there since the gman got up from his nap more than an hour before . . . she wasn't nearly as strong willed as me . . . she had to admit defeat when he started singing "rock-a-bye baby" to her . . . yep . . . gabriel two, adults nada . . . :P

don't know what possesed me to continue the battle . . . not like i don't have enough pressure with the big audit going on . . . yea . . . got him home still dry at 4ish and round three got underway . . . had a talent show in the bathroom . . . totally g's idea . . . sang "i need a hero ". . . with improvised potty lyrics, of course . . . i sang lead and g played guitar till he decided he'd rather be a drummer and started beating on his wet wipes box with our toothbrushes . . . lalala . . . on and on it went . . . begging, threatening, bribing, guilt tripping . . . finally at 8:25 pm the halleluah chorus broke out . . . g, sporting his spider man underwear and with a good book in tow . . . finally . . . peed . . . in the potty . . . woohoo!!!  hoping to take our show on the road tomorrow . . .  :D

winners and losers . . .

here you see the winner.  me?  might as well go ahead and brand me with the big L on my forehead.  i just spent 4 hrs 15 mins in the bathroom w him . . . encouraging, tickling, running water, fussing, bribing . . . tried it all . . . nada . . . he woke up bone dry today, almost always does, tried the no diaper trick, but he's onto that one . . . no pee.  nohow, noway,  nowhere . . . around 11ish we hole up in the bathroom; mommy is determined . . . i canceled shower plans and lunch plans . . . swore i would outlast him this time . . . four hrs is a long time . . . you can see he had to find some interesting ways to entertain himself . . . and me . . . four hrs is way too long to be in the bathroom, so we finally retired to the couch . . . figured he could sit on my lap and watch cartoons and i'd catch him if he started peeing since he'd be peeing on me . . . yea . . . still outlasted me . . . the temptation of the computer was far to strong . . . and well, i was starting to worry he'd get sick from pee retention, or at least that's my excuse . . . i got up to check my email and next thing i know he's yelling at me from the bedroom, "mommy!  mommy!  there's pee on the floor!" . . . he was quite distressed . . . then he casually told me to wipe it up . . . and to add insult to injury the puddle landed in his bin of action figures . . . so now i'm washing pee off superheroes . . . sigh . . . :P

who's the boss???

he kinda looks all large and in charge, doesn't he?  yea . . . that's all thirty-seven and a half pounds of him sitting on me right there . . . whew!  but anything for a good pic, right?  :D

yea . . . i showed him who was boss tonight though . . . when i picked up his daily at school it had NO NAP in glaring all caps . . . darn . . . a kink in my plans of leaving him with cool renee while i went to jb's packing party . . . couldn't leave him with the crankies or cool renee might not be quite so cool when i got back . . . sooooooooooooo . . . i tried to get him to nap there . . . wasn't really working since cool renee and crew were having oh too obvious fun with the playdoh in the kitchen . . . i knew i had to pull out all the stops . . . i picked up his thirty-seven and a half pound tail and did the stand and rock till i won . . . yep, almost blew my knees out, but he finally fell asleep in my arms . . . i thought about getting miffed at him for being a no napping crab, but then i realized i wouldn't have many more chances to rock my sweet baby to sleep . . . so i relaxed and enjoyed the moment . . . :D

dang . . .

did a quickie kroger run tonight . . . milk, eggs, baby wash . . . forgot the ramen and toothepaste . . . dang dang dang . . . gonna have to go back for that . . . :D

hope the new year finds you all happy and healthy . . . this is going to be a great year!  seven is actually my favorite number so 2007 is sure to be fabulous . . . sure to . . . :D

check this out . . . i spent a whole afternoon reorganizing my photo files . . . impressed, aren't you?  the pics are next . . . i got a big wad printed this weekend . . . i'm going back to my old system of printing everything i think i might want . . . i'm just not good at scrapping pics that are stuck on a disk somewhere . . . i really like flipping through photo albums to find something to scrap . . . kinda old school that way i guess . . . i thought i was mostly caught up on printing, but i found two more cds in the counter pile of junk that needs to be put away and realized that two flash cards are already full so i'll need to schedule another target photo processing trip in the near future . . . :D

back to school today . . . sigh . . . :P

i actually got lots of scrapping done over the break . . . 8.5 layouts and a couple cards . . . can't share anything yet though . . . 4 of the layouts and the cards are for poppy ink . . . those'll be posted on the tenth . . . the rest i'm hoarding for hof . . . decided i'm not going to post any till i get 10 done . . . then as i do new ones i'll start posting again . . . hopefully that won't take too long . . . :D

what's g been up to?  funny you should ask . . . we had a little trauma here the other night . . . he drove his new bertie the bus through his curly locks and bertie got stuck . . . had to cut him out w the cutterbees . . . and now g has a combover . . . yep . . . major bald spot . . . hee . . . i really felt bad for laughing as he was standing there screaming . . . such a bad mommy . . . :D

guess that's enough news for one post . . . and i see i've been lazy and gone 10 days without posting again . . . my sister who does not blog and is apparently too lazy to register so that she can at least leave me comments so i know she's been here told me that i needed to post . . . so i did . . . yea . . . her daughter's too lazy to leave comments too . . . family, i tell ya . . .  :D

hmmm . . . guess i need to go on another posting spree to make up for the holiday holdout . . . think i'll do a post a day till i have a new layout i can share . . . that'll motivate me to get busy scrapping, right?  :D
