ladies man . . .

  

apparently since g is almost five he's decided that girls are a little interesting after all . . . yesterday we went to page's bridging ceremony from daisy to brownie girl scout and the gman didn't mind one bit that he was the lone boy in a sea of girls . . . he even picked up a new girlfriend, although he doesn't know her name . . . she's just "that girl" said with a little smile . . . then we met our new neighbor when we got home . . . another first grade girl . . . g's into older women, you know . . . she was waiting for him when he got home from school today . . . we're both excited about the huge playdate potential there . . . all this feminine attention seems to be going to his head . . . tonight he asked if we had any movies with "girls" in them . . . never heard that request from the gman before . . . we carefully analyzed his collection and finally dusted off "the little mermaid" . . . it was exactly what he was looking for . . . i kinda enjoyed it too . . . nice to watch a chick flick for a change . . . hmmm . . . now that he's interested in girls, i should probably give him some motherly advice . . . like "you've got mr. mcmeltme eyes, dear, but you should probably shed the captain underpants look . . . oh . . . and never fear page . . . g says you're still his "fravit girl" . . . :D

this was last week's never-ending list . . . yay for progress . . . one more week and i should have things somewhat under control . . . guess i'd better get busy making this week's list!

and just so you know . . . that extra space between "workout" and the next thing on the list is driving me batties, but won't go away no matter what i do . . . maybe it's typepad's sadistic way of emphasizing the fact that i haven't made it to the gym in over two weeks.  :P

this week is B week in g's class . . . they've got a little beauty parlor set up in the home center . . . surprisingly the boys are way into it . . . g calls it the "spray shop" . . . he drenches his hair with water from the little spray bottle then brushes the front straight down . . . he and his best bud have sported this new do every afternoon this week when i've gone to pick up the gman . . . they think it's awesome and that it drives the girls crazy . . . they're already talking about double-dating . . . course mrs. vicki's had to explain to them that double-dating isn't actually just the two of them . . . it involves girls . . . like maybe the two of them inviting their girlfriends to mcdonald's after school . . . g's cool with that . . . he's got page . . . he's totally willing to claim her as his girlfriend . . . it really amuses mrs. vicki that he's into older women. 

i've been pretty darn busy . . . busy busy busy . . . i'm about ready for a break . . . and i don't mean the mcdonald's pitstop we've been making every morning this week . . . gotta break that habit next week for sure . . . today i took my camera with me to work . . . needed to get a picture of one of my cute high school girls modeling a little project i've been working on . . . just took my camera . . . not the camera bag . . . of course the battery died before i could get my shot . . . argh . . . then i forget the darn camera at school . . . had to go back for it . . . double argh . . . poor g . . . had to make him model this sweet butterfly barrett for me . . . he's so going to kill me for stuff like this one day . . . too bad page wasn't around to save him . . . and me.

new beginnings . . .

still swamped.  but i found a couple layouts in my files that i've never gotten around to sharing here.  both are from last fall.  "stinky pony" is from g's school's fall festival; the same one we're planning on going to this weekend.  "gone fishing?" is from last year's fall break florida trip.  we've already started the countdown for that one too; just two more weeks and then freedom! 

 

overbooked . . .

soooooo . . . yesterday i kept the kitchen clean all day, saw the laundry through to completion, made this layout, did the sweep, mop, vacuum, take out the trash thing, got g's closet organized, finally put away the stack (well, through 2006 anyway, need more albums to finish it), visited a friend in need, and took the gman for a walk.  woohoo!

ummm . . . but, you'd better hold off before you go patting me on the back . . . i was really just procrastinating . . .

today i had tons of work cause it's a monday plus dinner with a friend scheduled, tomorrow i'm in charge of an inservice after school, wednesday i'd like to go see/photograph that new baby, thursday is dinner and a scrappy class (mine! and i must find the time to get ready for it!), friday had better be sherri-time cause i'm gonna need it, and saturday i have a school fall festival in the am and a wedding to photograph in the pm.  plus there's that little online class that i mentioned.  MUST get that written.  ack!

i got asked recently if i'd seen the new snl . . . do i watch tv?  i can't remember the last time i sat down and watched tv . . . just watched tv . . . nothing else . . . nothing . . . nada . . . never . . . sigh.

the layout was really fun procrastinating though . . . one of those effortless pages that are few and far between . . . all new happies on it . . . cosmo cricket and october afternoon pp, american crafts chip and thickers, k&co trim, october afternoon and making memories journaling spots.  fun times!

embellishments 101 . . .

the mojo was with me friday night . . . yay!  i managed to get TWO layouts done instead of the usual lonely ONE . . . and i'm very happy with both of them. 

have to share a gman comment from last night too . . . he asked me something . . . and i was obviously not paying attention because i don't even remember what it was he asked . . . but my response was "maybe" . . . to which he immediately yelled "MAYBE IS  A BAD WORD!"  total lol. 

this morning i meant to sleep in till 9:00.  unfortunately g had different ideas.  i was startled from a VERY sound slumber by "MOMMY!" screamed into my right ear.  talk about instant panic attack.  i rolled over and pretended to continue sleeping while g did the fish out of water wake-up flop.  then proceeded to molest my right ear till he accidentally pulled 3 hairs.  OUCH!!!  i told him to get out of the bed and go watch cartoons or play with his toys or something.  he may have been gone for 10 minutes before i heard "MOMMY!  I'M DONE!"  you know what that means.  i staggered into the bathroom to deal with it.  i must have looked terrible because g told me "you can just keep your eyes closed".  i'm like, "how am i supposed to wipe your butt with my eyes closed?"  seriously.  i crawled back in bed for another 10 minutes and finally gave up when i heard "MOMMY!  YOU CAN'T SLEEP ALL DAY!"  sigh.

and now if you're still with me, i wanted to tell you a little more about my class at nyc scraps.  it's fast approaching so i've been shaking off the procrastinating thing and getting to work.  i'm very excited about it. you can see the sample class here.  there will be 12 classes total over a 4 week period (plus the sample class which is really the first class in the series).  For all you locals and anyone else who's wondered what goes through my head when i scrap . . . well this is it . . . everything that goes through my head when i scrap.  lol.

this isn't really newsworthy . . . but my house is under control again . . . whew . . . that makes me feel so much less crabby!  and all that housework freed up some mental space . . . i just finished a two-pager that i actually like . . . i know . . . i'm shocked too . . . plus a card . . . that i like . . . double shocker!  i should clean the house more often.  naaaaaaaaaaaah.  :D

  i finally managed to get a little scrappy.  finished this one that's been lying around waiting for journaling for a couple weeks.  and i polished off the jbs september kit.  wheee!  i'll get to share those soon.

me and the gman made a little pilgrimage to tru and m's this afternoon.  we were both needing a little retail therapy.  g scored some new imaginext and a couple squishies.  i didn't find the new bg up or mm halloween that i was seeking, so i picked up some k&co and a little more mm passport that i'd been wanting. 

g got recognized at m's.  how fun is that?  "the cutest boy in scrapbooking".  i have to totally agree with that statement.  happy birthday "kim".  hope you found some great retail therapy too!  :D
