christmas crazies . . .

this photo amuses me.  it's pretty much a photo commentary on the way we live.  do i even need to say anything?

we do have a real tree.  i should take a pic of it.  g's been enjoying rearranging the ornaments, hiding eggs in the branches (holiday confusion?), and having his guys lassoing the branches.

we made the rest of the sugar cookies this am.  they weren't any nicer the second time around.  but apparently they tasted fine.  g ate half for breakfast and pronounced them "simply scrumptious" . . . not sure where he picked up that phrase.

yesterday we went through his toys, searching for things he could donate to some younger boys.  when we got to his stuffed animals he told me, "we only need to keep the ones with teeth" . . . ha!

ok.  that's all i got for tonight.  hoping to get the december daily in order soon.  maybe.

in the news . . .

we had our first snow day friday.  and a two hour delay this morning.  it's getting cold a little early this year.  i'm not complaining.  yet.

martha would not be impressed . . .

but gabriel sure was.  i sent one of these christmas cookies is his lunchbox yesterday and his teacher told me he was actually bragging about it (ugly little thing that is was).  we made these a couple days ago in my quest to fill up that darn december daily.  not that i've actually even placed the first picture on the first page.  but i've been thinking about it.  it might happen.  i counted up last night and i think i've got entries for 8 of the 10 days that have passed thus far.  and that's with minimal cheating.  i'm sure i can scrounge up 2 more days if i try real hard.  i think i can i think i can.  hey!  g's playing with his trains again!!!  i'm SO happy.  if you knew how many trains this kid has you'd be happy for me.  he hadn't been playing with them for 2 months now and actually told me twice that i could go ahead and sell them.  noooooooo.  i'm just not ready for you to ruthlessly purge this huge part of your baby years.  anyhoo.  so these were fake and bakes.  decorated by g with jingle mix sprinkles and betty crocker gel.  i'm sure betty wouldn't be impressed either.  but my baby loves me for it and that's a fact!  ok.  enough of my stray thoughts this morning.  got another busy day at work today, so i'd better head that way.  ho ho ho.  it's off to work i go.

the twilight zone . . .

i finally got sucked into the twilight series last week.  i don't remember which day i started it, but i finished number four last night around 9ish.  that's pretty much why i don't read.  i tend to get a little consumed.  i have soooooooo many things to get caught up on now that i've ignored life for almost a week.  like i made an ali daily cmas mini and i've done nothing in it and it's already the 7th.  ugh.  almost tempted to just save the darn thing for next year.  sigh.

thought i'd share some of the calvinball fallout today.  trying to get back into the blogging groove.

       

 

final stats . . .

she has retained her superhero title by breaking the scrapping barrier with 233 calvinball points!  go celeste!  (she says she will be taking the month of december off in order to do damage control in her scrap area).

paula scored 127 calvinball points!  woohoo!!!

and i even hit triple digits with 100 points!  (my breakdown: 23 layouts (4 two-pagers), 14 cards, 2 mini-albums (a 13 pager and a 33 pager), and 13 small projects.  it was a good month.  thanks for the motivation celeste!

and that makes chelle the winner!  woohoo!
