jyc #10.  i have little explanations of where each of these ornamnets came from in the envelope.  love this concept.  i think i'll do a few like this every year till i get them all documented.

 
jyc #11.  my fave so far.  love the happy colors.  love the little rhinestones mimicing the twinkling lights and the fact that i used that ki memories alpha that i've held onto so long.  i'm not so good with multi-colored titles, but i did it.  go me.

food quirks . . .

 
half listening to the gman's ramblings while picking the peas out of my fried rice at the chinese buffet yesterday my mind began wandering.  i'm sure the atomic peas were the catalyst for these thoughts . . .

• i don't like peas.  obviously as i pick them out of my friend rice.  i can eat them if they're well hidden, but i prefer not to.  not sure if i could eat a whole exposed spoonful.  shudder.  i'd rather have canned green beans over frozen or fresh because the bean inside is smaller in the canned version.  and don't even get me started on beans.  too late.  those i do not eat.  never.
• i'm the daughter of a commercial fisherman, was raised in the backwoods of florida, and have a little gypsy blood.  i've eaten every kind of fish imaginable shellfish included (except for oysters - i have texture issues), octopus, squid, venison, wild boar, squirrel, duck, pigeons, rabbit, frog, turtle, tapezscuintle, and of course your every day cow, pig, chicken, and turkey.  i'm a carnivore.
• i prefer fruity desserts.  key lime pie, apple pie, banana pudding, lemon pound cake, blueberry muffins, strawberry shortcake, strawberry cheesecake, banana bread, rainbow sherbet, skittles . . . mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
• i hate spongey soggy foods.  no melissa.  i do not want to taste your famous dave's bread pudding.  i do not like green eggs and ham i do not like them sam i am.  oh.  and dumplings are disgusting.
• coke tastes better in mexico.  it's so good it'll bring tears to your eyes.
• i love potatoes.  all kinds of potatoes.  i could go on and on about potatoes kinda like bubba goes on and on about shrimp in forest gump.  g doesn't really like potatoes.  he's a weirdo.
• i don't really care for pizza much anymore.  i like pizza hut thin and crispy pepperoni ok.  and the tostino's 99 cent frozen pepperoni, but that's about it.  what's wrong with me?
• when i graduated from high school my best friends in the neighborhood gave me a case of ramen noodles.  i think this was my favorite present as it's the only one i still remember.  i still love ramen noodles.  what's wrong with me?
• you can find boiled peanuts in a can in every gas station and grocery store in north florida, georgia, and alabama.  a southern delicacy.  my sister and i always buy a stash whenever we go home for a visit.  what is wrong with texas and tennessee?
• christmas dinner plans . . . honey baked ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, rolls, sweet tea, and apple pie a la mode.  can't wait!

i'm back!  did you miss me!  where was i? i don't really know! but i have 2 weeks off and i hope to make it up to you!  no fuzzy socks today.  just really old tennies.  have you ever owned a pair of shoes so long that the shoe laces wore out?  i'm almost there.  anyhoo.  december daily days two and three on this spread.  the page on the right is the backside of ann envelope.  my christmas letters and photos will go in there and some bits of my christmas cards will go on the green page peeking out.  i'm not done with those.  waiting till the end of the month to butcher the cards.

 
i bought the metallic pipe cleaners in the target dollar spot.  i didn't really think i would actually use them, so yay for me i did!  and they worked so well with g's little crafties.  :)

the tags come out of the library pocket!  cool!  kinda embarrassed to let you see the empty journaling card on a journal your christmas page.  i forgot until i went to take the pic and at the time i was in a hurry for some reason and didn't stop to journal.  going to do that tonight though. promise!

jyc #6.  looooooooooooove me some jyc.  on this day i didn't do a dec daily post.  and my ocd tendencies are ok with that because i still have a page 6.  ha.  weird girl.

 
also getting a serious scrapper's high from using up some older product on this project.  woot!  ok. that's all i've got so far.  and yes i know i'm 2 weeks behind, but i've been (mostly) keeping up with topics and pics and i don't have to actually finish in december, do i?  or maybe i can just do six pages each year until i'm done.  ha.

sorry for the hannah montana reference.  we're really more icarly fans, but the title seemed to fit.  i was stressing about the weather all morning yesterday.  normally i'm the first to start stalking snowbird each winter, but we had a boy scout engagement yesterday afternoon that we didn't want to miss.  good eats were prepared, the gman was getting a couple exciting awards, and the big man was making an appearance.  do you see the smug look on the gman's face in this shot?  he just got done telling santa he wanted "nothing" for christmas.  we all know this isn't true.  when i asked g about it he told me that was a "fake santa" who apprently didn't deserve to hear the list.  ha.

 
we obviously made it to the big event.  this was just after g got his bobcat patch.  do you see the sweet potato still fondles my ear.  so funny.  remind me to zoom a little next time i pass off my camera for a photo.  ha again.

 
we stayed all the way to the bitterly cold end because the gman was #2 in popcorn sales (thanks friends and family!) and won the dubious honor of pieing his den master.

 
big ha ha!  and then we got the big news!  snowbird flies!  no school monday!  woot!  and then i drove home with an iron grip on the wheel and one of the dad's following me to make sure i got home safe.  florida girl is a wimp driving in winter weather.  horrors.  but whew.  we made it home safe and all is well.

 
very well actually.  we love snow days!  once the roads thawed a bit we ventured out to walmart to spend his popcorn winner gift card.  then we headed to jenni's to do a little packing.

 
of course i took the requisite snow day photos.  he's into throwing snowballs this year.  can you tell?

 
and guess what?!  no school again tomorrow!  woot!  woot!  gotta love the south.  :)

advent adventures . . .

  
so only about a third of the little advent ornaments have made their way onto g's miniature christmas trees so far.  i'm kinda not on the ball that way.  the rest are still in piles on the scrap table and i'll just hand them over if he can't find that number on the tree.  hey.  it's hard to organize all these events in advance when they involve other people.  and we all know that the gman likes his events to involve other people.  even though we're doing it inperfectly, it's still a definite win for christmas cheer and involvement.  i got the idea from the 7 gypsies tags that were in this month's add-on kit.  the patterned paper is october afternoon and collage press (thanks celeste)!  you can see a mini tutorial for making them HERE.

in other news, we are currently stalking snowbird.  i know you're going to be shocked to hear me say this, but i almost hope he holds off on his first wintry flight of the season.  we have so many holiday festivities planned for the next two days . . . i don't want to miss them!

we had little flurries off and on all day today.  the 10 day has our lows in the teens.  who left the backdoor open to canada?  i thought it was december 5th, not january 5th.  florida girl is not ready.

 
busy weekend:  big girl vintagefest party at jenni's friday night.  downtown with cub scouts saturday for a marionette show at the public library and a tour of the main fire station.  yet another flat tire.  scrappy evening at sherris (and i managed to get two days done on my journal your christmas project! posting those in the morning).  class birthday party at the ceramic shop after lunch today then on to our cub scout christmas ornament making evening.  how about you . . . has your december been kicked into overdrive yet?

quickie post!  december is mad!  here are my two completely ready december projects so far.  i have an advent calendar done, but i haven't gotten all the events listed in it so i can hang them (thier paper ornaments) on the tree so i can photograph them.  poor g has been picking one off the pile on the table each mornng, but that is better than usual for us, lol.

 
i have a little mini tutorial for how i created the background on this one to post on the jbs inspiration blog monday.  i also have two hodgepodge minis and another christmas layout (a shocking two-pager) in the works.
