here they are in their creation order. first up is this one about that old photo of myself i go recently. i think i have already mentioned this, but i am in looooooooove with the exclusive stamp and stencil in this month's papercrafting kit. the background here was created with them. if you're a subscriber you'll soon be getting a fabulous new newsletter delivered to your inbox and a step by step for creating this layout is one of the articles in it. yay!
these charming chipboard bits are from the artisan add-on. i'm tickled by how the stringing of them turned out. normally i would just run the string underneath them all, but i was too lazy to pick them up so i ended up piercing them and doing a little stitching. it's a happy accident that i plan to replicate. speaking of stitching and laziness, are you as amused as i am by the aqua bobbin thread showing here? yep, i'm too lazy to change bobbin colors too. heh. i promise you i am not lazy in all areas of life!
the wooden letters are also from the artisan add-on. they seemed a little brassy, so i toned them down by blending on some malted milk ink.
next up i wanted to let the vintage bits in the antiquarian add-on shine. what perfect way to do that with a pic from my dad's 80th birthday party! (heh. sorry dad). that oversized bank ledger is to die for and is actually in the main kit. a must. like i must have another. the awesome oversized blue ribbon label, those adorable teeny eyeglasses, and the oval german foil are some of the pieces from antiquarian.
i embossed the exclusive stamp with zing gold metallic embossing powder.
the gold detailing on the edge here is a piece from the project kit. there's plenty in the package so i didn't feel bad stealing it from the project kit. hee. (and i really want to do jenni's project kit this month because it is indeed perfect for our stellar county fair that is coming up in two weeks). oh and i couldn't resist adding a jbs blue ribbon embellishment from my stash. it fits perfectly with the theme of this layout. simply the best papa!
this one is a little organized and graphic for me, but you know i like to shake it up now and then.
i colored the edges of the journaling spot with a black sharpie to make it work better here.
and then this is #4 so far this month. i am so delighted with it. one thing that tickles me is those snowflakes in july. hee. the colors and photos are also way happy.
i definitely need to use more of the specialty papers in this kit. the black flocked overlay and embossed white paper are both neat neat neat.
then here's another piece from the antiquarian add-on - a vintage ice ticket book. this is one of the things i love about using vintage pieces. the themes are there, but aren't overstated. i like that subtle allusion.
that's it for me so far, but look for more on the 10th. definitely! and be sure to check out the design team gallery for more inspiration. oh! and also the inspiration blog as briana's amazingness (she's already got like six done!) is temporarily housed there while the new gallery is being completed.
These pages are fabulous, Doris! Just love your work!
